For information about using each Christian Growth Study Plan category, click on Leadership and Skills or Christian Growth. When you select English or Spanish, introductions will appear. This information includes administrative suggestions for the specific types of plans.

The following steps are suggested for your use in implementing the Christian Growth Study Plan with your church family.

1. Consider your own spiritual growth needs and interests with prayer. Then as a leader in your church, evaluate the spiritual growth needs and interests of your church family.

2. Study the Leadership and Skill Development plans and the Christian Growth plans for specific avenues to meet the needs and interests you discovered in your evaluation.

3. Select specific courses to pursue individually. Select the courses for your church family, then plan group studies to be offered through the ministries of your church. Individual studies can also be encouraged by making people aware of the courses and resources.

4. Conduct the group studies. As appropriate, provide resources for individual study.

   A leader or teacher for a Christian Growth Study Plan group study must be approved by the church or by the sponsoring association or SBC entity. The nature of the course determines the training needed for the teacher. Special preparation needed by the leader is available in the leader guides.

   A Christian Growth Study Plan certificate does not convey certification of any kind.

5. Process the course credit requests as courses are completed (see "Requesting Course Credit").

   You are encouraged, not required, to make a copy of each credit request and maintain a file or log of the studies completed by your church members. This information assists in verifying records kept by the Christian Growth Study Plan office as well as enables you to answer questions asked by church members.

6. To send credit requests, fill out the appropriate form under credit request form. Click submit. It will automatically email your request to the Christian Growth Study Plan office.

7. Recognize the Christian Growth Study Plan participants by presenting them their earned certificates during a gathering of your church family such as a worship service or a leadership banquet. Print their names in your church newsletter and/or bulletin.

8. Inform participants of further study opportunities.
